I have received an email today from a fellow blogger asking me to introduce some educational sites in Singapore for visit.
In my earlier blog post, I mentioned putting it off until after Chinese New Year before introducing educational sites, but your wish is my command.
The first site (I will introduce 3-5 sites before Chinese New Year, and the rest after) is Pizza Hut kitchen tour.
Pizza Hut is one of the largest pizza restaurant in Singapore. You can find it practically in any corners of Singapore. So what went on in the Kitchen while you are waiting for your pizza? Find out more below!
Making a pizza is akin to manufacturing a car in a factory. There is a process flow to it and all restaurant crews must be familiar to the steps they specialize in. In general there are 5 steps.
Step One: - Dough is made in a large mixer whereby flour and water are added. This process cannot be seen in the tour due to safety reason.
Step Two: - Dough is flatten into saucer shape using machine (not a roller) and place over a mould.
Step Three: - The dough in the mould is then allowed to rise to a certain level within the mould.
Step Four: - Toppings and sauce depending on what you order will be placed on top of the pizza.
Step Five: - The Pizza is passed into a tunnel oven at 200 degrees Celsius.
Step Six: - The cooked Pizza is then cut and serves.
Through the steps, the restaurant will explain the whole process clearly and will take any question gladly.
At the end of the tour, kids interested can try their hands in making the pizza (But they cannot eat it.)
After the tour, visitors will have to eat their lunch at the restaurant (compulsory) at a discounted price.
Pizza Huts is categorised under educational tours.
